FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHICH INTERCOM SYSTEM IS RIGHT FOR YOU?
AUDIO INTERCOM
The straightforward, reliable choice. A front panel fitted to the gate post with a call button connects to a handset inside your home. When a visitor arrives, you speak to them from inside and press a button to grant access and trigger your automatic gate. Simple, secure and effective.
VIDEO INTERCOM
All the benefits of audio with the added reassurance of seeing your visitor on screen before granting access. Modern video intercoms are full colour as standard and connect to a wall-mounted monitor or handset inside your property.
GSM INTERCOM
The most popular choice for homes and businesses across Scotland. Works like a mobile phone — when a visitor presses the call button, it rings your pre-programmed number wherever you are in the world. Answer from your mobile, speak to the visitor and let them in remotely by pressing a key. Perfect for properties where the owner isn't always on site.

HERE IS WHAT WE CARRIED OUT...
Following gate manufacture and automation, KLR Design paired this installation with the Akuvox E18C and A08 Intercom Units — one of the most advanced intercom systems available.
The E18C allows the homeowner to communicate with any visitor via 4G from anywhere in the world. Features include temporary keycodes for deliveries and trades, a full touchscreen interface with keypad, and facial recognition entry software.
An internal WiFi monitor was also installed for an additional layer of in-home convenience.

ACCESS CONTROL SOLUTIONS
KEYPADS & CODE LOCKS
A simple, cost-effective way to allow trusted visitors — family, trades, maintenance staff — to enter your property when you're not home. Available in hardwired and wireless versions, in finishes from hard resin to illuminated stainless steel.
PROXIMITY READERS
Ideal for high-traffic entrances at offices, schools, hospitals or apartment blocks. Each user is issued a programmed proximity fob which triggers access when presented to the reader. Fobs can be deleted instantly if lost or access rights need changing.
VEHICLE LOOP DETECTORS
Triggers your automatic gate or barrier as a vehicle approaches, without any manual input. Using wireless E-loops fitted to the ground, the system detects vehicles by magnetic field — not pedestrians. Popular for domestic driveways, car parks and barrier systems.
PUSH TO EXIT BUTTONS
A low-cost exit solution available in a wide range of finishes. Ideal for communal car parks or lower-security access points. Also available in key switch versions for added control.
MAGLOCKS
KLR Design's security standard across all composite gate installations. Available in 600lb and 1200lb magnet strengths, maglocks provide exceptional security and increase wind resistance. Versatile, reliable and built to last.
