WHAT ARE ELECTRIC SLIDING GATES?
Electric sliding gates open sideways along the entrance instead of swinging inwards or outwards. This can make them a strong option where driveway depth is limited, where swing space is restricted, or where the entrance is better suited to sideways movement.
Depending on the site, a sliding gate may run on a ground track or use a cantilever system that does not require a track across the entrance.

SLIDING GATES VS SWING GATES — AND TRACKED VS CANTILEVER
Swing gates need clear space to open, while sliding gates move sideways. Sliding gates can be more practical where vehicles park close to the entrance, where driveway depth is restricted, or where the driveway layout makes swing gates less suitable.
Traditional sliding gates often run on a ground track. Cantilever gates are a trackless sliding gate system supported by a counterbalance structure. Tracked sliding gates can be suitable for some entrances, but ground tracks may be affected by debris, stones, leaves, ice or uneven surfaces. Cantilever gates may be preferred where a ground track is not ideal.
